Once he heard the commotion in Fox's direction, he figured that was where Kit had gone. As such, he waited a moment to see what would happen next before determining his next course of action. The blue lights around Fox seemed to be getting closer...wait, that meant he was heading towards Liadon! Which must mean that he was either it, or luring Kit towards him in the hopes she would divert her attentions towards the one...either way, it was bad for him. He analyzed this as quickly as he could before deciding to go for a riskier route, just for kicks....and hey, he was supposed to be having fun for once in his life, right? May as well....he waited until Fox got close, and then just at the moment when he should extend his hand out were he it, Liadon would burst into motion at his highest possible speed, ducking down low to avoid any attempt at contact...and hopefully this would surprise Kit too, were she following him. With any luck, he could get away from them both with this one move. The object of this was to try and surprise them so they might pause for a moment so he could get enough of a head start to make a difference...that plus they would also need to turn around.
Kit missed! Not that she didn't expect it, but what does Fox do? He takes her right where she wants to go, towards her first target. A wide sly grin spreads accross her face as they near Liadon. She wondered what he'd do once they were close enough. Fox had this planned to escape Kit's grasp, what he didn't plan on was being a pon for Kit to --- Liadon's headed in her direction! It all came together, mere seconds---POUNCE! Revenge had been done! Quickly, the kitty jumped to her feet and away from both of them. "HAH! Thought you could escape my wrath, did you? Well you aren't tricking me THIS time!" she squealed victoriously, dashing back to the grassy area, where she could conceal herself once again.
Fox was about to roll off to the side, hoping for Kit and Liadon to collide. That did not take place though, as Liadon charged past Fox. Still it all seemed to work out as he was almost instantly pounced by Kit, rendering Liadon 'IT' again. Fox kept running away from Liadon even as Kit gloated over her victory before vanishing into the tall grass again. Fox had a decent distance between himself and Liadon now so he paused to take a brief breather after his little sprint.
"Liadon is it again!" Fox announced to nobody in particular. Since he couldn't hide like Kit could due to his fox-fires his only option was to stay out of reach. That suddenly gave him an idea, and a sly grin formed across his face. Fox bolted toward the nearest tree, unsheathing his little claws as he got near it. He leaped at the tree and climbed up to the lowest branch, using his claws to help him up. Soon he was crouched on the lowest branch which was a good seven feet off the ground. Fox was panting a little, even more out of breath now after that little stunt but he was smiling. "Can't tag what ya can't reach." Fox announced, giggling a little as he did so.
...hmm. Seemed his ploy didn't work out quite so well as he had hoped, it seems. Kit then ran into the grass after squeeling victoriously, while Fox climbed a tree....and issued a challenge, it seemed. Liadon couldn't help but smirk...oh, he'll find a way to reach Fox, just for that. He may be a bookworm, and not too wise to the ways of games....but boy, could he figure out how to do some unexpected things. Instead of wasting energy just yet, he studied the tree's shape, size, and relation to about everything in comparison to where Fox was located. A simple running jump wouldn't be good enough, that was obvious immediately. However....Liadon chuckled a bit as the plan formulated in his mind. He wondered if he was even capable of pulling this off, but hey....was worth a shot. This was actually kinda fun, trying to formulate plans in order to tag the other players.
After a few moments of analysis, Liadon would charge at the tree in such a way he'd be running directly underneath and parallel to the branch Fox was on. As he neared the tree, he pivoted slightly and jumped backwards towards the tree, aiming to get as high as possible while landing feetfirst. As soon as he felt his feet connect, he would push off ot the tree as hard as he could, aiming to get even higher, as well as attempting to get within arm's reach of Fox. Should everything work out correctly as he had planned, he would be able to barely reach Fox's feet, which he would attempt to touch before gravity took effect on him and he fell. If this worked, he would land on the ground, bending at the knees to mitigate any damage as he then took off running again. He would also speak on his way back to the ground, should his goal be met.
"Tag. Looks like you weren't out of reach, after all."
Fox watched with a cheshire like grin as Liadon seemed to formulate some sort of plan. The kitsune simply sat on his perch as he watched his friend run toward the tree. He didn't think the fellow would be able to get up to the branch, and Fox was right... sort of. Liadon wasn't trying to get up to the branch, just getting high enough to tap Fox on the foot! He felt the touch lightly on the tip of his clawed toes, letting out a slightly surprised "Eep!"
It seemed Liadon was better at tag than Fox had given him credit for. Fox let out a giggle before he hopped off the branch, grabbing onto the wood as he fell past so that he hung from it for a moment before letting go and landing lightly in the grass below. "I guess I should have climbed higher." Fox said, more to himself than either of the other players in their game of tag.
Fox knew it would be tough to sneak up on Kit or Liadon, as his fox-fires made it exceedingly easy to spot him. He couldn't make them go out, but he did have some control over them even with the restraining rings on the bases of his tails. He let out a sly laugh, a smirk forming on his face as he slowly walked behind the tree and out of sight of Kit and Liadon. Then once he was out of sight he hopped into the tall grass that seemed to circle the whole courtyard, as he did so he concentrated and sent his little fox-fires scattering out across the whole of the courtyard and away from himself. The little lights danced about the area in an almost hypnotizing way, making an excellent distraction as Fox took a page from Kit's book and began stalking through the tall grass.
Fox was crouched on all fours, moving comfortably through the foliage. He was going after Kit this time, since it didn't seem like Liadon was going to be coming near the outskirts where he might get unexpectedly pounced. Fox had Kit's scent, and there wasn't any wind to throw him off the trail either. He moved as quietly as he could, which was surprisingly silent for the usually hyper Fox. After several minutes of stalking he knew he was within pouncing distance of Kit. He leaped at her then, hoping to catch her by surprise.
Fox was it! WHere did Liadon go? That sneak disappeared pretty quickly after that st stunt he pulled...but cleverly done....Just one problem....Where did Fox go? Great...Kit had too much attention focused on Liadon since he was "it" that she had forgotten to keep an eye on Fox. OH! The fires, yes, but....why is he so far away? What is he waiting for? Is Liadon it again without Kit noticing? No...Fox was---
What was that noise? Kit's ears flicked to a very faint sound...the sound of steps...but where they Liadon's or Fox's? She narrowed her vision to the area, trying to make out the black mass in the grass. It looks rather small. Kit didn't want to take any chances, sh--- wait...where'd it go?
She could feel eyes watching her. Sniffing the air, she tried to make out who it could be, but better safe than sorry. Looking around cautiously, she tried to locate the black mass, but something shiny caught her eye...yes....Fox's fires, they're so pretty!
Wait!
No...it's a trap...it mu---- "NYAAHH!" Kit Jolted for the little lights JUST as Fox and leapt towards her!
She was safe!!
Wait...no....oh NO, he did n---
Wide eyed, Kit realized her tail was just not as fast as she. Quickly she thought up a solution and tackled Fox, wrestling him. "Tail is off limits!" Of course she knew he didn't mean to tag the tail, but it was wrestle time anyway. "You're going down, Fox!" she teased.
Liadon halfway expected Fox to chase him in retaliation for pulling the unlikely off....so he bolted for where he initially started; the pool. Unless Fox could really jump, or decided to swim, he should be able to keep the body of water between the two of them, creating an endless loop of not getting tagged for him....provided he could pull it off anyhow. He noticed the lights that normally were around Fox seperate to different areas of the courtyard....interesting. They must be an extension of his will, in a sense. He pondered on this for a moment before he heard Kit's yowling. This snapped him out of his thought process, and made him jump a little bit. He then looked towards the direction of the yowl, and saw the grass rustling by the low lighting that was provided...and it was rustling a lot. Slowly and cautiously, he approached. As he neared, he tentatively spoke, but was ready to bolt as well. He did note that they were now wrestling...but knew not what it meant.
"...erm...who's it now?...or did we change games?"
He would watch them wrestle for the time being, and wonder if maybe he should intervene or anything...though they appeared to be playing, it never hurt to be ready anyhow.
Fox smirked when he felt his hand make contact with part of Kit. He'd been aiming to pounce on her, but only managed to graze her tail. It still counted as a tag though, which meant Kit was 'IT'. The only problem with that was that Kit seemed as sensitive about people touching her split tail as Fox was about anyone touching any of his three tails. She immediately turned around and pounced on Fox, turning the tag game into a wrestling match. Kit said something about Fox 'Going down.'
"I'm already down!" Fox replied with a giggle as he wrestled to try and get on top, which was harder then one might think. Kit was exceptionally squirmy and quick and she already had the advantage of landing on top of him. Fox did his best, but it seemed like he wouldn't be able to get Kit from off of him. Then he got an idea from when he used to play around with the other kitsune as a child. He leaned up and licked Kit on the nose, which seemed to surprise her enough that he managed to roll over and put himself on top of Kit. "Now who's going down?" He said playfully, grinning all the while.
"Eep!" Kit felt Fox's cold tongue on her nose, she hadn't remebered a lick being so chilling before. Immedietly, she pawed at her face and then it dawned on her that her face is human now...nose is dry. She let out a low playful growl of defeat and chuckled as Fox's retaliation. Whispering softly so that no human ear would hear she plotted with him, "let's tag Liadon at the same time." She smiled devilishly, "we'll bring him down with us." A wide grin spread across her face, revealing her sparkling fangs. She was ready to hunt in a pack now and it would be quite a hunt, unless they could simply corner Liadon, one from each side of him when he got close enough.
....and the grass nearby suddenly went still and quiet. Liadon took that as a bad sign.....he bolted. He had been near them, but now he was running....but where would be a good place to go? The pool...hmm. It had its merits, certainly...as did the basketball court. Then there were the exits...but he wasn't ready to leave yet, and figured the guards would take it as such if he neared anyof said exits. He was having fun...no way was he leaving just yet. That thought shocked him a little....fun? A slight glint of happiness would be visible in Liadon's eyes...he never felt quite this good before. Then again, he never really had anyone he could truly call"friend" before either...but these two....they seemed rather nice, and he doubted that they would end up leaving him to the wolves, so to speak.....of course all this thinking and not paying attention to where he was going until this exact moment in time almost caused him to run right into the pool and underwater. He managed to stop just in time to keep from doing such, thankfully. He quickly moved so that the water was between him and where the rustling had been located, so as to hopefully use the water as sort of a shield...
Fox nodded his head with Kit's plan, slowly getting off the kitty girl. It seemed that Liadon had either heard them plotting or simply sensed something was amiss, as he was already running away. Fox's fox-fires all seemed to converge on Liadon, marking him as it were. It was a trick that Fox had never really thought to use before, as he was usually content to simply let his passive manifestations of his power hover about himself. In this case though it seemed quite useful, marking the target instead of himself.
Fox started creeping one way, before pausing a moment. "I'll circle around toward his back, you come at him from the front. When he's in position for me to tag him I'll make my fox-fires glow brighter." Fox said, quickly outlining his plan before slinking off into the tall grass again.
Kit nodded, still holding that wide grin as she began to stalk around the pool below eye level. Slinking around quietly and stealthily she came close enough to Liadon that she could reach him, but not close enough to be noticed until she saw the signal. She waited there for a moment, tail swishing intently, eyes focused. Bright little lights glowed about the target and Kit couldn't help but tackle as soon as she spotted it.
Okay then....this was looking bad already. So now he was surrounded by Fox's little blue lights, making him a very easy and obvious target no matter where he went. This certainly was an interesting power...he wondered what other uses might be available for these lights. However, now wasn't really the time to think about it...he had a very bad feeling about his predicament in general. Not only was he unsure which of his friends was it....they both had major advantages over him in terms of senses and quite possibly speed. He was having a hard time figuring his way out of this one at the moment....as his brain worked itself on overdrive trying to figure out a solution, he wasn't really moving. Nothing was coming to mind either, to be honest. He had no idea who was it, where they'd be coming from, or when...all in all, he saw this situation as him being, as people put so bluntly....screwed. Unless he managed to get a lucky dodge in....
Fox managed to creep about unseen till he was behind Liadon. It was much easier to be sneaky when you didn't have little lights constantly bobbing about you...good to remember. When he was in position Fox waited a few moments, his tails swishing about behind him as he peeked at Liadon. Fox made his lights grow brighter around Liadon, the signal for Kit to move in. This also served the other advantage of causing a bit night blindness to Liadon, though Fox hadn't even thought of that.
Fox hopped out of hiding and charged at Liadon, his pawpads making very little noise as he moved in for the tag. Truthfully he wasn't sure if Kit or himself was 'it' at the moment but soon it wouldn't matter and Liadon would indisputably be 'it'. Fox grinned happily, quite enjoying this chance to simply run around and have fun. It was so much nicer than being constantly cooped up inside all the time. Maybe he'd get some more privileges soon at this rate, but for now he was totally focused on tagging Liadon.
Atempts to escape were futile. There was no way this game of tag could last with the pile of wrestling mutants. "I guess...no more tag," Kit admitted through her laughing. She toppled over rolling onto her back away from the others, unable to do more and interested in what else they could play. She looked up to the mesh sky with moonlight barely piercing the metal. Letting her mind wander, she went back to a dream she once had in the classroom. Suddenly all of that became possible and she looked towards her new friends wondering if they'd be willing to help plot an escape. It would take much planning, of course, but that wouldn't stop Kit. "Hey, guys..." she began, quietly so that the guards would not hear, "you want to help me plan an escape?" She propped up sitting with her hands flat, her ears stood up in their direction, her eyes widened like a child's awaiting gifts to be open at christmas, and her tail mischieviously flicked behind her as she spoke.
