Fox got up after the horrible noise stopped, still a bit unsteady though. Yet he couldn't afford to nurse his poor ringing ears just yet, Kit seemed to be freaking out even more! Fox raised one hand and sent his little fox-fires at Kit. The little blue lights surrounded Kit and then changed into many tiny kittens, all of them starting making cute little mewing noises. Fox hoped that the sudden appearance of tons of tiny kittens would help ease Kit a bit.
"Please calm down Kit, Marisa isn't going to hurt you." Fox stated in as calm a voice as he could manage. His ears still ached and it took a lot of energy out of him to use his powers despite the rings around his tails. "Just please calm down, that noise really hurt my ears." Fox added, using one hand to rub his ears while his illusion kittens rubbed up against Kit and purred in a friendly manner.

Marisa sighed heavily upon seeing how Kit was reacting...well, at least she had managed to get the screeching noises to stop. She then inspected the damage Kit had managed to deal to the synthetic skin covering...it appeared her claws were even sharper than she first thought. For their size, they did more damage than they should have...there would have been quite a bit of blood had she been more organic. The damage was nothing that couldn't be repaired back in her room...but it was still surprising to see that Kit was capable of this much damage.
As she took a few steps away from Fox and Kit once more, she noticed that Fox had somehow managed to use his illusions....from what she could tell, he was only capable of this when highly stressed. It's not surprising he could do it at this moment, as that noise would have definitely bothered his sensitive sense of hearing. While she was thankful that his ears were no longer in pain, she was also rather disappointed in herself. She just kept making one mistake after another so far today...she leaned against a wall in silence as she tried to smooth out the torn synthetic skin, with little luck. The unmistakable shine of metal was clearly visible where Kit had managed to shred the skin away, though interestingly the metal itself was not harmed from the scratching. She then simply watched to see what would happen while keeping her distance...
Kit was stunned in her place. She couldn't figure out how to react to the sudden apearance of adorable little kittens. Ears ringing from her recent frenzie, she couldn't hear Fox very well, but she knew he was the one manifesting the little darlings. Her blank face couldn't distract from the fact she still had tears streaming down her face as she glanced over to the kitsune. Forgetting everything else she jumped over to embrace him, "I'm...sorry..." she whimpered softly, still upset with her failure as she snuggled him tightly.
Fox was relieved when Kit jumped over and embraced him, he folded his arms around her and returned the hug. "It's okay... Everything is fine now." He said in a reassuring voice as his illusions flickered and then faded back into his normal fox-fires. He stroked Kit's head with one hand until he was sure she was calm. There was no doubt that he forgave her for whatever she thought she'd done wrong, more relieved than anything that she hadn't been taken by the scientist.
"I'm just glad you're safe Kit! I was so worried about you!" Fox added, snuggling against her some more. He saw no reason to let go yet, wanting to be one hundred percent sure that she was calmed down and wouldn't hurt herself or anyone else. "I thought that scientist might have taken you for a minute, and I was really scared." He hadn't been scared for himself for a change but for his friend. Fox really did seem to care more about his friends than himself. It had been a no-brainer for him to surrender a blood sample in exchange for his friend's safety.
Kit let out a soft grunt, still in anguished memory of the recent event as she clung tighter to Fox trying to move past it. Feeling the returned hug and Fox stroking her hed, she unintentionally began to purr, her memories now taking her back to before the asylum...when all was bliss and humans wanted nothing more than to pet her all day. For that moment she forgot where they were and what had happened and simply allowed herself to slip away, still clinging tightly to her friend.
