Kit tilted her head as Hallow corrected her mistake and pondered for a moment. “Hmm…Latin,” she called out from the top of her head, “makes sense.” As he reminded her of her promise she hesitated, looking at the doorway to see if she could spot the teacher. Kit wasn’t going to take any chances. She crept closer to Hallow and sat very close, close enough that he could hear her and the woman, not. Speaking softly, she began, “well, you see…you’re comment…” she giggled quietly, “it was perfect.” She took a moment, jerking back one of her ears in the direction of the classroom. “I was me again, I had escaped,” she continued, “I gathered all the cats in the city with the perrrfect plan,” she said smugly. “Why’d you wake me up? I almost had them all,” she teased with a hissing chuckle, tail swaying methodically.
Hallow listened to her with mild intensity, almost lost in his own little world as her words entered his head in the background, though they still registered and cause his ideas to wander on tangent paths. Cats, teachers, plans, and armys....it all seemed like a metaphor, or maybe he was simply too tired to know what was going on. A smile crept to his face, the words ready to come out before he even knew what he was about to say. This was a sign of a switch in his bi-polar personality, or atleast that a switch was soon to happen. "There are plenty of 'teachers' in this prison that could be the enemies, and enough 'cats' to give you a well-bread army. Why does such a plan have to remain only in your dreams, miss kit?" Hallow commented slyly as a smile came to his face and his head tilted to the side. He was beggining to have fun, trying to imagine an army of clones of this cat girl taking on the prison guards.
Listening closely at his reply, Kit’s imagination began toying with the idea. Seems everything Hallow’s said, so far, only gives her more cause to hope for an actual plan of escape. Her tail became very active in its smooth movements as Kit plotted….but then…she stopped at his question. Taking a moment to think of it, she retreated to herself, resting her hands on her lap. Lowering her eyes, she stared at him sadly, saying “I know one thing that will remain in my dreams.” She lowered her ears back, her tail lay between them, motionless. Turning her head away, Kit continued softly, “I’ll never be me again.” She sighed with that last thought, everything in her present seeming like the actual dream. Her thoughts drifted to her turning point. It all seemed so unreal. Sighing again, she let her mind go blank. She trembled softly, barely noticeable except for anyone paying close attention.
Hallow tilted his head slightly as a look of quiet curiosity entered his gaze, as well as slight worry. It seemed that everyone in the prison had their own interesting story before life in cell's, and Kit here was no exception by how she was talking. But, perhaps she did not realize that she was not alone in how she felt. Depression was common for prisoners, and it was never a good thing, but often a simple talk with peers was the only fix. He didn't want his new friend to go towards sad feelings, but he wanted even less to reveal things about himself. Oh well, life was confusing enough. How bad would it be to throw in a little more? "People can experiment on us, try to make us more human-like (or less), but that never stops you from being yourself, miss kit. Just remember, you aren't the only one in here who wants to be free, to be their true self...." Hallow said plainly in an attempt to comfort the cat-girl, meanwhile staring at his own metal cuffs, the ones that blocked his powers and his very nature. It was a sad thing, as he truly wanted to be free and wreak havoc down upon those who had wronged people like himself.
Kit turned back to Hallow, clutching her knees. “What’s on the outside, makes a difference. It’s still a part of me that I may never retrieve. A dead life, there’s no returning to that or my carefree notions that came with it.” She nuzzled the side of her face into her knees, keeping eye contact with Hallow. “Not so much the freedom I miss, but the fact I am out of myself and my element,” she stated as-a-matter-of-factually. She stayed still for a moment, staring at him, her tail flicking back to life before she started shivering noticeably. “How is it humans have survived so many centuries without fur?” Sitting in a cold dank place had normally been no problem for her, but now, with nothing but the clothes she was given to cover her from shoulder to thigh, left her arms and legs exposed to the frigid air. Suddenly, she thought up a sufficient answer, looking back at the teacher through the door. “Guess that says it all. They chop us to bits and steal OUR fur so they don’t die from their exposed skin,” she chuckled through her shivers.
Hallow had finally heard enough to come up with a sufficient conclusion to what she was talking about. It was already obvious that she had been experimented on, and more than likely had spent a better part of her 'new life' here at the asylum. But, originally, he thought she had been some human criminal who had been caught and turned partially cat. However, now it was seeming quite the opposite. Had the scientists here actually made a cat part human? Some experiments he could understand why they might want to do them (however unnecessary they were), but that would be something completely different. To actually change the species of what was once a cat....no wonder this girl was in so much emotional pain. There was nothing he could do to help her on that front. But, she did seem cold, and he could atleast help her on that.
Hallow removed his jacket and handed it to her, sighing as he did so. He was a creature of shadow, and thus so was very used to cold temperatures. He really had no use for such a jacket. Really, they had given it to him so it could cover his grayish limbs. "There you go, that should help out. And if you are still cold I have enough heat in me to make up for your absence of fur." He offered as he sat there against the wall. He also chuckled slightly at her earlier statement, smiling. "And yes, I do believe that is what those under-developed humans try to do...they steal fur from small animals so they can look like a great pile of multi-colored fluff" He added with a slight smile.
Kit stopped shivering almost immediately. The jacket was warm, made her purr in contentment. She toppled over, adjusting the jacket on her shoulders like a blanket, and fell into Hallow. “I could sleep right here.” Cat naps…beginning to be a bad habit. “Nyaaah…” she yawned, but kept herself awake, “So what else is there to do around here?” She was curious about him, feeling she said too much about herself. Pawing her face with a fist, she asked more bluntly, “what are you?” no shame in her question, knowing where they were and their situation. She stretched comfortably and played with her tail swishing in front of her, its two prongs almost fighting each other as she awaited an answer.
If Hallow could blush, he'd probably be blushing right about now, as he watched Kit fall into the nook of his arm and shoulder. He hadn't really expected her to accept the offer of using his own body as a pillow and warmth, but she did it without hesitation. Now he was stuck just sitting there with this rather cute cat-girl laying on him and acting...well like a cat. It was almost kind of funny just watching her play with the tails. It was...relaxing, and he smiled lightly. That was, until she began asking about what he was. He eyed her careful, wondering if she suspected something. But, it seemed she didn't, and he wondered if there was harm in showing atleast a little trust. "I am....complicated. There is no scientific explanation for what I am, f that is what you are looking for" He admitted, which was a rare thing indeed. The scientists understood just about everyone in the prison, everyone except for those of the Mythenos group. Trying to avoid the subject, Hallow patted the top of Kit's head and adressed her earlier question. "There really isn't much to do around here besides practicing your skills, being social, or relaxing in the courtyard. We are already doing one of those, and I am considered too dangerous to have access to the more fun things in the Asylum..." he commented absentmindedly, picturing the goody-goody prisoners on their hands and knees who did it just to have access to one movie, or a piece of clothing.
Kit sighed at his answer, “what’s a girl to do besides lose her mind?” she said mostly to herself. She needed fresh air, a change of environment, something to chase and maybe snack on later. “Where are those pesky snacks when you need ‘em?” she asked quite seriously, in dire need of something besides her tail to entertain her. Sitting upright, she shook her head and rubbed her eyes. She grew weary of their boring setting and the enclosed space was beginning to drive her mad with desperation. She began to claw at the floor to keep from attempting to squeeze through the bars. That was unsuccessful last time. Kit looked to her new friend in the hope he’d have some distraction to keep her mind off the seemingly endless lesson. “Won’t class end soon?” She looked back at the bars, growing anxious at every passing minute, which seemed like forever.
Hallow laughed as he watched Kit grow more and more anxious to do something other than relax in a hallway. She would learn soon enough to not be so impatient in a place like this, though at the moment there really was no helping it. He sighed and finally nodded his head, standing up with a faint smile. "Well, there are a few things we could do..." He said with an almost mischievous tone as he eyed the other classrooms. He had been in this area many times before, and new exactly how to entertain himself if he really wanted to. He could show Kit how to, though he was more inclined to watch this time rather than join in. "There are several empty classrooms right now. If you are truly bored you can set up pranks for other teachers to set off later, or you can just wreck the classrooms. Some teacher even tend to keep snacks in their desks. There are many things you can do when bored. Just....dont get caught..." He suggested rather plainly, though was serious about not getting caught. This section was low on security, but no matter what you were caught doing, the punishment was always bad.
Hallow towered over Kit, but having been used to being smaller than she was currently, the height difference didn’t bother her in the least. She simply watched him stand and looked up to his eyes while he spoke. Pranks….snacks….wreck classrooms….WAIT! Did he say “snacks?!” Her ears shot up and her eyes wdened as she looked up at him, her tail swishing into action as if it had a mind of it’s own. “Snacks?! In the desks?” She almost leapt up at him in her excitement and looked around the hall for an empty class. Suddenly remembering the full one nearby, she covered her mouth and sat back down, scared she might have been heard. After a moment, she turned her head back up to face Hallow, “you think I could take a catnap in a corner somewhere and be forgotten?” she whispered softly with a sly smirk.
Hallow, surprisingly, laughed at this and smiled as he nodded his head at her question. There were, infact, snacks hidden all over the school wing. It was one of those hidden perks of having access to the school while not being a goody-goody shoe-kisser like some of the other prisoners around here. Infact, he was technically rated as one of the most dangerous prisoners in this area, but they let him have perks like this so that he didn't go completely crazy. Hallow of Mythenos Group, threat level 0, rank 17...just another way of saying they didnt know what he was, what he was capable of, or how to handle him. So, instead, he had the fake ID of G434 so as not to make other prisoners suspicious...like kit. "Yes, there are snacks in the empty classrooms if you know where to look. I'm sure that nobody would suspicious of a cat-girl taking a nap in an empty room...so, why don't you go take a peak?" Hall suggested with a half smirk, pointing to one of the nearby, empty rooms while he leaned against a wall, more as a look-out than anything. He was curious to see how this would go and what kind of reaction Kit would make.
Kit turned forward, pawing at her face with a fist. She shook her head, letting her hands in front of her, tail still ticking behind her. After a moment, she stood up and turned towards Hallow with a determined look on her face. She saluted and promptly snuck in stealthily and swiftly, sniffing around the air to catch and hint or whiff of food. The empty classroom looked just like the other, with one exception, the desk looked closer to the wall, with a nice little spot, big enough to hide a small Kit. She rushed over to it, without making a sound, and carefully opened the drawer in search of these snacks. “Ooh, plenty.” She stashed some of the various treats in the pockets of Hallow’s jacket that she was wearing. “Enough to share, even!” she exclaimed to herself. Dashing back out, she hinted to her hiding spot, whispering, “perfect place to be forgotten.” The beginning of a plan? Maybe just spur of the moment test of the security system, a convenient “oh I forgot I was here, sleeping” ploy. She went back and took cover in the notch made by the desk by the wall.
Hallow couldn't help but laugh as he watched the near-crazy cat-girl dash into the empty classroom in search of snacks as if her life depended on it. But she seemed to be have quite a lot of fun, more fun than he usually had when he went to find food. It was entertaining to even watch. He sighed as kit dashed back, coat obviously full of snacks, whispering something about a "hiding spot". She seemed almost like a child or, well, like a cat. He followed after, his pace rather slow, and entered the empty classroom as he peeked under the desk and found the hiding kit. "I do hope you know that the guards here really aren't that dumb, and furthermore I hope you arent going to eat all the stashes here in one day..." Hall said jokingly, smiling as he shook his head. He took a seat on the floor near Kit's hiding place, holding his hand out in request of one of the snacks.
Snug in her corner, Kit sneered at Hallow’s remark, “don’t ruin my moment. Girl can dream can’t she?” That must have been the first time she referred to herself as “girl” rather than her preferred “cat,” but it seemed so natural. Times like this helped her adjusting to her new skin. The shocking change, alone, was enough to drive her out of her mind. Keeping distracted was her only hope of coping. “Besides,” she continued, “no harm ever came from nice long catnap,” she ended with a smirk offering a handful of the delicacies she had found. She looked around the room for any small opening that could be of use later on. Adjusting her posistion, she picked out a small treat for herself and began nibbling on it, watching Hall as she did.
